Be Active!
Hey guys,
I know Parent’s Weekend has come and gone and I hope you all got to see and spend time with your parents and have a great weekend, and I know mandatory PT for most of you is over. However, I urge you all not to become lazy in your physical fitness or your spiritual fitness because becoming slack in one or both can be very bad for us all.
Concerning physical fitness, we all have to pass a PT test once a semester, so if that isn’t enough incentive for you to stay in shape let’s take a look at what scripture says about your body. What’s in a Name?

Each year, new knobs join the ranks of cadets at the Citadel. And each year, there are always are a few knobs that have names with 5 syllables and no vowels, or other such complexities in their name to make it nearly impossible to pronounce correctly. It is always a challenge or at least entertaining for cadre members to guess how the name is pronounced. What is in a name? A person’s name carries their family heritage, their honor, background and even part of their identity. In ancient times, Japanese Samurais would die for the sake of upholding the name of their family. Even in the Corps of Cadets, we put part of our identity in what company we belong to and passionately defend the pride or honor of our company’s name. It may seem like a little trivial, but I would say that when people continue to mispronounce your name they are disrespecting what that name represents and who you are. I do not personally think this really is a serious problem for most people, but this made me think about how people see us versus how God sees us. Read more
Make war!
A sermonjam by John Piper. He talks about making war against your flesh. To anybody who is willing to watch, I challenge you to take a look at your life, and be honest with yourself and with God about what sin is present or controlling in your life. And I challenge you to take that to the cross and let it up to God.
