What’s in a Name?

Each year, new knobs join the ranks of cadets at the Citadel. And each year, there are always are a few knobs that have names with 5 syllables and no vowels, or other such complexities in their name to make it nearly impossible to pronounce correctly. It is always a challenge or at least entertaining for cadre members to guess how the name is pronounced. In ancient times, Japanese Samurais would die for the sake of upholding the name of their family. Even in the Corps of Cadets, we put part of our identity in what company we belong to and passionately defend the pride or honor of our company’s name. 12th Annual Freshmen Ladies Reception
Although The Citadel is made up of mostly testosterone, we do have a little something for the ladies! Details are still coming together, but on August 28th, right after chapel, we will be hosting a brunch for all the freshmen ladies. This is the 12th year we are hosting it, and every year, it is an absolute blast. Jana, “Pioneer Woman” of South Carolina, will be creating hors d’oeuvres (yes, I had to good the correct spelling) as well as several ladies from Charleston Sanctuary and other churches in the area.
